Depressingly, it looks like AOL is inching further and further away from allowing other instant-message networks to interoperate with their own. They’ve already managed to retreat from full interoperability to a simple promise that they would open their network when they integrated video messaging with it — and now, Dan Gillmor is reporting that they’re backing off on even that anemic commitment. How pathetic is that? Come on, AOL, you can do better… [Seen on Marc’s Voice]
